"Worms ate my brain and then I screamed and ran away"

It's amazing how blocking Twitter on my phone and personal laptop leads to going to sleep two to three hours earlier. Apparently microdosing dopamine really wires me up. I thought I'd find something else to do with the "freed-up" time, but nope, I just become more aware of how incredibly tired I am, and then I'm too tired to do anything that isn't Twitter and I can't do Twitter, so I go to bed.

I might need a "no Twitter after 3 p.m." rule like people have with caffeine. Or something like it. Until I figure that out, blocking it entirely seems best.

Are you getting more sleep, or are you just sleeping earlier?

Oh man, the phrase "microdosing domapmine" feels like such a callout right now, when I'm literally distracting myself from journaling where not ten minutes ago I wrote "Podcasts are good if I listen to them while playing video games, and video games are good if I play them while reading twitter. Twitter is full of stupid little dopamine hits, so that's good on its own, which is inherently horrifying, because then I spend twenty minutes straight on it."

So like...I feel this post deep in my soul and really need to do the same thing yipes.

I took twitter off my phone completely and lately just opening it up on my desktop reminds me of why it's a pointless timesuck. What it looks and sounds like to me is a box with the screaming of a thousand panicked voices - you open the lid to see what's inside and the screaming starts, then you slam it shut because dang, that's loud.
